Abstract Submission - Deadline 11th June 2010
Notification of Acceptance - within 7 days of submission
Final Paper Submission - Deadline 27th July 2010

Corrosion problems have always presented a severe challenge to oil and gas extraction, producing and distribution operations. Operators plan for long periods of continuous production with maintenance scheduled for the prescribed shutdown periods. Unfortunately, corrosion does not always respect these schedules, resulting in severe economic penalties due to loss of product. In addition, the risk of pollution and hazards to safety are other important reasons for adequate corrosion engineering. Governmental legislation concerning oil and gas extraction is becoming more stringent in order to minimize these risks. Furthermore, corrosion hazards have intensified with extraction in deeper waters and in more hostile environments. Innovations aimed at reducing offshore field development costs involving reductions in platform weight, increasing use of satellite wells and subsea manifolds require specific attention to corrosion prevention.

As the importance of internal corrosion and its prevention will be examined with emphasis on material selection, coatings and the use of corrosion inhibitors. The contribution of inspection (non-destructive testing), and corrosion monitoring to the overall operation will be considered in detail. Corrosion problems concerning “risers” and subsea-lines will be considered together with methods for protection. Various corrosion-oriented software, including “material selection” can be demonstrated so as to provide a better picture.

Oil & Gas Management professionals involved tackling corrosion problems will find this event beneficial as it encases on everything from basic materials to cutting-edge technology. Abstracts of papers on any of the topics mentioned below are being actively solicited, although other topics of equal interest on Corrosion Technology will also be considered. Papers of mainly commercial content are not encouraged and final selections will be on the basis of papers that expand the level of 'composite' knowledge and beneficial to the participants. Suggested Topics for this event are stated below for your reference.

• Ultrasonic Phased Array (encoded) • Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT) • Automatic Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) • Guided Wave (GUL) • Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD) • Corroscan/C-scan • Infrared Thermography • Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) • Remote Visual Inspection • Endoscopy/Videoscopy • Hardness Measurements (HT) • Eddy Current Testing, Electromagnetic Testing (ET/RFET) • Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) • IRIS Testing • Acoustic Emission Testing • Leak Testing of LNG Carrier Tanks • Digital/Computed Radiography • 3D Tomography • Hot Hydrogen Attack • Heat Exchanger Life Assessment System • RTJ Flange Special Ultrasonic Testing • Hydrogen Induced Cracking Detection

Interested authors should submit an abstract of no more than 400 words in MS Word format and should state clearly the objectives, subject matter and conclusions to be presented in the full paper. The abstract should be accompanied by the authors' bio data (<100 words) and photo/s preferably in JPEG format.

All final papers MUST be in written 'word format' so that later publication in PetroMin/PetroMin Pipeliner is possible. 'Power Point' submission for publication will not be considered, but the presenter should present his paper using 'Power Point' that covers the main points of the paper and various illustrations.

Your final papers presented during the conference, depending on the strength of the subject, will be published in our PetroMin or PetroMin Pipeliner Magazines (Hard Copies), which are circulated freely to eligible Executives/Professionals in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical and Processing Plants and related Service Industries in Asia. The magazines are audited by BPA International Annualy.

The speaker's name, his biodata, company and presentation synopsis will be published and also presented on our Web site: www.safan.com and other marketing printed brochures and promotional materials of the conference. Speakers can also submit their Company logos to be included in our conference promotional materials and on our website (until the end of the conference). If requested, the images can also be linked to their respective websites. This will be an added publicity of their company's participation at the conference.
