Dr Reza Razmjoo has a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, a Master's in structural engineering and a Doctorate in fracture mechanics. For more than a quarter of a century, he has worked in fatigue and fracture characteristics of welds. He also has been involved in the engineering critical assessment of joints and for a number years lectured the BS7910 fitness- for- purpose courses internationally.
The majority of his career has been spent at TWI primarily dealing with the structural integrity of welds for offshore structures. This period included developing more than twenty international R & D projects designed to establish the integrity of welds in deep water applications. As a part of this work, he pioneered work on the cost effective and time efficient method of fatigue qualification testing of SCR welds using resonance. The guidelines drawn up from the above research projects are now used in riser design worldwide.
Dr Reza Razmjoo is currently the Director of Business Development at TWI.

Ole Eddie Karlsen is holding the position as Global Subsea BDM in Welltec® with responsibility for RLWI and subsea wireline services. He has a strong interest in minimizing well intervention cost and is working to shift from heavy well intervention operations such as coiled tubing and snubbing, requiring use of the derrick, towards lighter and more efficient wireline and Well Tractor® conveyed methods. The ambition is to reduce operating cost and increase production output by developing and qualifying new technologies for well intervention operations which can be run independent of drilling operations.
Ole Eddie has worked in the offshore industry for 18 years, starting as Well Intervention Manager with Maritime Well Service AS. He has 5 years of field experience as cased hole wireline engineer with MWS. In 1998, he joined Proffshore and was quickly involved with Saga Petroleum as a consultant in the Well intervention department. Here he worked with testing and qualification of new developed zonal isolation equipment for introduction to oil and gas wells. He has worked offshore as a Well Service Supervisor on several fields and has previously held the position as Service Manager for Vetco Gray, and Business Development Manager Wireline & Tractor Operations in Welltec® for 3 years.
He has presented papers and case studies on applications and experiences from use of tractor conveyance technologies at conferences in Norway, Aberdeen, Houston and Asia.
