Recent market conditions have had a major impact on Tugs & Offshore Support Vessels (TOSVs) industry. Operating conditions have become more complicated, rivalry is severe, and the offshore oil and gas industry is continually evolving and at the same time demanding challenging technology. This has increased the demand and requirement for successful, skilled and expert TOSV design, construction and operations.



The Tugs & Offshore Support Vessels Asia 2010 conference which is jointly organized by PetroMin and Malaysia's Joint Branch of "RINA & IMarEST" will be held to address issues concerning both the Shipping and the Oil & Gas Industries. This 2-day event, comprising of technical presentations and experts panel discussions, is being developed to debate and study the latest advancements made in the industry so as to provide a platform for ship designers, shipbuilders, manufacturers & suppliers, owners & operators, drilling contractors, installation contractors to present and discuss future needs and challenges, as the search for hydrocarbons moves into deeper waters. The conference will consider a wide range of vessel types including harbor tugs, seagoing tugs, salvage tugs, anchor handling tugs, anchor handling tug/supply vessels, platform supply vessels, multipurpose support/supply vessels, diving support vessels, multipurpose construction vessels, pipe laying vessels, accommodation barges, crew boats and large crane vessels, etc.



Papers to be presented should be in line with the following Topics:

  • Case studies from tugs and offshore support vessels (TOSVs) designers, builders and operators

  • Latest industry views on safety and risk assessment
  • Essential knowledge to minimize emissions and implement effective environment plans

  • IMO & Statutory Rules & Regulations



    Interested authors should submit an abstract of no more than 400 words in MS Word format and should state clearly the objectives, subject matter and conclusions to be presented in the full paper. The abstract should be accompanied by the authors' bio data(s) (<100 words) and photo(s).



    All final papers MUST be in written 'word format' so that later publication in PetroMin/PetroMin Pipeliner is possible. 'Power Point' submission for publication will not be considered, but the presenter should present his paper using 'Power Point' that covers the main points of the paper and various illustrations.



    Your final papers presented during the conference, depending on the strength of the subject, will be published in our PetroMin Magazine (Hard Copies), which are circulated freely to eligible Executives/Professionals in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical and Processing Plants. Maritime Industry and related Service Industries in Asia. The magazines are audited by BPA International Annualy.

    The speaker's name, his biodata, company and presentation synopsis will be published and also presented on our Web site: www.safan.com and other marketing printed brochures and promotional materials of the conference. Speakers can also submit their Company logos to be included in our conference promotional materials and on our website (until the end of the conference). If requested, the images can also be linked to their respective websites. This will be an added publicity of their company's participation at the conference.

    Papers should address current issues of general interest and the practicing community. Papers of purely commercial content will not be approved by the Technical Committee.
