PetroMin and Hydrocarbon Asia are the leading technical journals to the region's upstream and downstream oil and gas industries respectively.

A new quarterly Online magazine, relating to both Petromin and Hydrocarbon Asia, RAM & Safety Asia (Reliability, Asset Management, Maintainability & Safety) had been launched jointly in 2006. The magazine is directed towards the Maintenance and Reliability professional. It presents papers and articles directed to those concerned with plant improvement, primarily those in the Oil and Gas, Utility and Power Generation industries.

The content is intended to reflect the new and emerging industrial practices and methods in the workplace. Reliability, as well as safety matters will be emphasised and improvements in planning and execution of maintenance work will be detailed and demonstrated.

The readers/patrons gain access to the latest technologies and practices across the world. It includes Programmes and methodologies, as well as reviews of tried and tested programmes, RAM & Safety Asia will achieve this goal by soliciting and inviting papers from practitioners and consultants on technology applications, with an emphasis on case histories and user experiences.

RAM & Safety Asia will be a peer review journal, whereby readers will be encouraged to submit papers on their experiences in plant improvement for their peers to review and comment on. Safety aspects, related to reliable plant operation are considered to be as important as all other improvements. Paper on safety technology, from Process Safety Management, Safe Manufacturing Practices to Personnel Safety Equipment, Practices and Programmes will all be encouraged.

Topics, such as Condition Based Maintenance, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Risk Based Inspection, Business Centered Maintenance, Safety Integrity Level, Process Control for Improved Safety, Training to reduce unreliability caused by personnel action and intervention, will all be included.

Papers, describing RAM & Safety Asia readers' experience with these programmes, descriptions of tools and applications, will provide the Maintenance and Reliability practitioner with the most current information whereby he may select the best programme for his plant. It is intended that benchmarking will be a regular feature, whereby readers will be able to compare their operation to peer and industry operation, so an effective approach to Reliability and Maintenance can be realised.

Readers and contributors will include Maintenance Managers, Maintenance Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Supervisors, Operations Management as well as Consultants providing services to the industry. While Equipment and Service providers will be encouraged to contribute, the magazine will remain aimed at all users in the Upstream, Downstream and pipeline industries.

We would like to have your feedback on the topics you would be interested in, so that we would endeavour to present balanced articles in this online magazine.
